Moms and Dads, you have a big job on your hands and we want to support you as you tackle the teen years!
Getting my student connected
If you’re reading this right now, chances are good that you are a parent concerned with seeing your student succeed in life and in relationship with Jesus. We share your concern and desire for your student and we have a few steps to seeing your student get connected at Vineyard Student Union.
Step One: Weekend Celebrations Vineyard Student Union Weekend Celebrations are ‘the place to be’ for students grades 6-12 at the Vineyard. The Weekend Celebrations are the main gatherings each week for students and provide the best introduction for new students. Each Weekend Celebration includes live worship from a student band, a relevant talk, cool media, and great opportunities to hang with friends and make new ones. Feel free to call the Vineyard Student Union office with any questions and join us at the next Weekend Celebration (513.671.0422 ext. 131).
Step Two: Groups You know by now that your student’s friends play a huge role in many aspects of your teen’s decisions and preferences. Leading researchers indicate that peers have surpassed parents as the top influencers for teens. Vineyard Student Union Groups are all about helping students find a group of friends here at the Vineyard where the influence will be moving your student in the right direction.
For Middle School students, groups occur as a portion of the weekend celebration here at VCC. The last 20 minutes of the weekend celebration are focused on groups of 6-10 students gathering with a pair of leaders to connect and dialogue about the talk. New students can begin in a larger cafe group until they have found the right group to attend regularly.
High School groups are happening in homes throughout the city at various nights through the week. Groups are generally divided by grade, but our first value is to see students connect with others (so if that means another grade – that’s okay). Students are welcome to check out any group any time, and new groups are forming all the time. Call the Student Union office to find out how you can connect to your new group of friends! 513.671.0422 ext 133
